Soilstone comes to M&CCE Expo
Soilstone specialises in engineered soil processing on site using existing in-situ material. The process is an innovation in earthworks; improving loose soil and rocks to engineered stone with reinforcement. Soilstone sustainably recycles demolition waste aggregate materials and uses processed recycled material for reinforcing and strengthening infrastructures such as gravity mass walls, foundation bases and water holding mass structures.
Using a stabilised mass fill of sand with stone properties Soilstone is able to immobilise loose sand, add recycled reinforcements to help strengthen the shear strength and bearing of the structure, then builds as a terrace embankment for sustainable development and a structure that is built to last.
Working with local and State governments, companies and individuals, RE Soilstone provides alternative solutions to complex problems such as slope embankment and coastal erosion; prevention and repairing of earthquake damage to buildings; complex construction; flood mitigation and management, and prevention and repairing of flood damage to buildings.
RE Soilstone also has its own Buttress Soilstone Walling System; an economical innovative bracing and support wall system, engineered as an innovative holding structure for mass soil stone as well as footing supports, retaining walls, and a bracing wall system
Edgar Arevalo Agda, Consulting Structural/Civil/Research engineer for RE Soilstone says the cost benefits and value-added savings are achieved through the use of recycled material as it is both cheaper to obtain and is environmentally sustainable. He states that reengineering and re-using in-situ materials reduces the dependence on importing materials, leading to a thoroughly tested and robust alternative building system that delivers innovative and cost effective solutions.
