Join us for the Seawork Cardboard Boat Regatta - sponsored by Knighthood Marine taking place on Wednesday 12th June 2024.
The theme is Paris 2024 - challenge your competitors to a race in the Cardboard Boat Regatta,
Boats and crew outfits are invited to celebrate the theme and be as creative as possible!
Channel some Parisien chic, recreate some of the city’s iconic landmarks in cardboard, pose as a French legend or celebrate the sporting achievements of the Olympics – the possibilities are endless!
Prizes will be awarded to the Fastest Boat, The Best Bedecked Boat and The Spectacular Sinking Award! This is a relaxed, informal and entertaining networking event for you to bring clients to or as a staff thank you. You do not need a ticket to attend - food and drink will be available to purchase onsite.
CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA ENTRIES MUST BE SEAWORK EXHIBITORS
GENERAL INFO ON BOAT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Boats must be made ONLY from cardboard and duct/gaffer/parcel tape. Cardboard cannot be sealed with any paint or sealants.
Decoration - including paint - can be used above the water line only. Duct / gaffer / parcel tape of varying colours can be used for creativity.
Boats can be a maximum width of 1.5 metres by 2.1 metres in length. There is no maximum height.
Boats must be propelled manually. i.e. with a paddle - any type of paddle can be used.
2023 Regatta Report
A hot sunny evening on the second day of Seawork saw a flotilla of cardboard boats take to the water for the Cardboard Boat Regatta sponsored by Knighthood, with a Kings & Queens theme.
The regatta event included live music, bar & food.
The theme celebrated “Kings & Queens”, Seawork exhibitors represented their favourite Kings & Queens in boat and costume design.
The skippers and crews celebrated with colleagues and friends on the quayside with live music from The Captain’s Beard band, hearty food and cold drinks.
Much hilarity ensued with varying success or sinkings in the Seawork marina with plethora of rescue equipment to hand!

A special prize was awarded to BMT for their asymmetric design and for completing the course the wrong way up!
