About

The Seafarers’ Charity is the central fundraising grant funder for maritime welfare and safety charities and organisations. Each year, we support over 600,000 seafarers and their families. As the largest independent grant funder of maritime welfare and safety charities and organisations we support anyone who works, or has worked, at sea, whatever their seafaring profession; we are inclusive.

Put simply, we believe a career at sea should be fulfilling, rewarding, safe, and free from the unique hardships that can be part of a life on board. Everything we do is about charting a course to make this a reality.

The Seafarers’ Charity has been improving the lives of those who work at sea, and their families, for over 100 years.
