Garmin has introduced its new GPSMAP® 1523xsv chartplotter at this year’s Seawork exhibition — a 15-inch ultrawide touchscreen unit aimed at boaters, cruisers and sailors looking to optimise helm space without compromising on functionality.
The 1523xsv is 74% wider than a standard 9-inch chartplotter, allowing users to view multiple applications side by side via a single screen. It supports Garmin’s high-definition ClearVü™ and SideVü™ scanning sonar, as well as Panoptix™, LiveScope™ and traditional CHIRP sonar.
Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales & Marketing, said:
“We are excited to add an ultrawide display option to our popular GPSMAP x3 chartplotter series that offers boaters and anglers a more expansive, immersive field of view. Coupled with its easy-to-use functionality, built-in mapping and superior sonar capabilities, the GPSMAP 1523xsv delivers an incredible experience at the helm.”
The unit supports Garmin Navionics+™ charts, engine data integration, and digital switching via EmpirBus™ or OneHelm™. It is also compatible with Garmin’s Force® trolling motor and can connect with radars, autopilot systems, cameras and other equipment via the Garmin Marine Network and NMEA standards.
