What key challenges will search and rescue (SAR) face as a result of climate change and what kit and tactics will aid water and flood rescue operations in the near term? Just one of the topics to be explored at The Floodfighters Conference taking place on Tuesday 9 June, the first day of Seawork.
The Floodfighters Conference brings together industry leaders, frontline responders, and innovators to tackle the escalating challenges of modern flood and water rescue incidents.
The day features insights from UK emergency services, port resilience planners, and specialist rescue operators, covering the latest in flood rescue strategy, casualty evacuation, and small rescue craft design.
Attendees will also discover cutting-edge technologies transforming search and rescue, including ROVs, sonar, and drones, with case studies and practical demonstrations.
Moderated by Mr. Roy Harold MBE - Emeritus UK Chief Fire Officer, former NFCC Water Rescue Lead, United Kingdom, Roy will be joined by Peter Brown of Hamble Rescue and NILA Representative Professional Rescue, Richard Butler - Member of UK Fire Resilience Professional Rescue, Mark Pullinger - Managing Director Specialist Small Craft Ltd and Matthew Saffin - Rescue Technician Professional Rescue.
The conference concludes with an interactive panel discussion and networking lunch, providing a unique forum to share knowledge, tackle climate-driven challenges, and advance the safety and efficiency of water rescue operations.
