Celebrating its 110th anniversary as a company this year, the origins of new Seawork exhibitor Beldam Crossley go back even further. 1876 was when ship engineer Asplan Beldam discovered a solution for what had previously been an impossible problem, the result enabled Beldam to design specific products to improve efficiency in what were then steam-driven vessels. Beldam Crossley now manufactures for commercial and national naval fleets.
Concentrating on niche industrial markets, Beldam Crossley manufactures high quality machined and engineered components for Aerospace, Defence, Oil and Gas, high-end Automotive, Power Generation, Marine, Petrochemical Processing and Construction.
Beldam Crossley has been moulding PTFE for over half a century, developing a wide range of High Performance Crossflon® materials, each suited to a specific application. The company has become one of the market leaders in providing skidway system & slide bearing solutions to the oil & gas, petrochemical and construction industries.
Crossflon® skidway systems are used to aid the skidding of topsides, jackets and other heavy fabrications. A structure weighing in excess of 47,000 tonnes has been successfully loaded out on a Crossflon® skidway system.
Watch the system in action as part of the Mammoet operation to load-out a huge topside from the quayside for the Vietnamese Sao Vang and Dai Nguyet field development project.
