This month sees the start of Serco’s new seven-year contract to provide in-service support for the British Army’s fleet of 512 marine vessels.
Dedicated teams will deliver maintenance, repair, spares, trials, and technical services for a diverse range of assets, including Mexeflotes, Combat Support Boats, Army Workboats, Gemini 650s, Hard Hull Riverine Craft, Army Assault Boats, and Avon Redcrests across the South of England.
These specialised vessels play a crucial role in ensuring operational and strategic effectiveness, enabling ship-to-shore deployments, bridging, amphibious operations, and fuel provision in challenging environments.
“Military preparedness is a key priority and our success in securing this contract reflects the strength of our expertise and capabilities in defence engineering and asset management and builds on our recent strong momentum in the defence maritime sector.” Anthony Kirby, Chief Executive Officer, Serco Group plc.
