I have worked for the Fire and Rescue service for 19 years, based at Water Rescue stations. I have attended numerous large scale national flooding events over the years, predominantly Aberystwyth floods 2012, Berkshire 2014 and Whaley Bridge Dam 2019. I have a passion for water rescue and enjoy sea swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. For the past 2 years my role has been to assure and mobilise the National Asset register, and the Defra Tactical Advisors in large scale flooding events. In my current role, I am co-reviewing the Defra Concept of Operations.
