Joe joined MMC Diving Services in 2021 at just 17 years old, embarking on a four-year Marine Engineering Apprenticeship through Isle of Wight College. From the outset, he demonstrated exceptional commitment and drive, qualifying in his first year as a Surface Supplied Commercial Diver, a High-Risk Confined Space Technician, and an IRATA-certified Rope Access Technician. While attending college one day a week during term time, Joe has made the most of every opportunity on site. He has participated in nearly every dive project available, consistently stepping up as the first diver in the water. This hands-on experience has exposed him to a wide range of subsea operations including fitting blanks, hydro demolition, salvage work, underwater welding, and inspections. To date, Joe has logged over 200 commercial dives—and counting. His passion for the job is clear in everything he does. In his own words: “I love my job because every day brings something new—different faces, new challenges, and the open sea instead of four walls. It’s freedom, purpose, and adventure all in one.”
