About the Speaker

John, is a Naval Architect by training. He has over 40 years of experience in advanced ship design and shipbuilding. His early career was spent in commercial ship design and shipbuilding before then moving into the naval sector. He spent 10 years as an Engineering Director followed by 10 years of Executive leadership in the naval shipbuilding sector. He has worked on many of the UK’s major naval programmes in the last two decades including HMS Ocean, the Albion Class Landing Platform Docks, the Wave Class Fleet Tankers, the Astute and Dreadnought class Submarines, the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers, and the Type 26 Frigate as well as a number of exports programmes. As MarRI-UK Director, John directs and supervises MarRI-UK operations, which includes leading MarRI-UK core-team. He is responsible for the establishment of MarRI-UK strategic goals, formulating plans to ensure the goals are met, make key decisions, liaising with MarRI-UK Board to ensure all efforts are aligned, and provide strategic advice to the Strategy Board and Chairman.
