About the Speaker

Alex Newton-Southon, Co-CEO of The RS Marine Group, has been part of the group and its founding brands for 30 years. Having started as an apprentice in the workshop at RS Sailing, his career to date has proudly had a significant influence on the small boat industry from design to manufacture. Alex has pushed boundaries in product design to enable their customers to truly fulfil their enjoyment both on and off the water. He's tackled this by challenging the status quo on production techniques and dated small boat manufacture philosophy to design exciting, modern, lightweight, durable and sustainability-conscious sailboats. More recently, Alex has been fundamental in creating RS Electric Boat's Pulse63, the first production solely electric rib, which not only challenges design ideals, but also marine users' culture and how they interact with the water.
