Nick Lurkin works 11 years now for the Royal Association of Netherlands’ Shipowners as a Senior Adviser Climate & Environment. He is involved in climate and environmental policy matters for maritime transport at national, EU as well as IMO level. Nick is also active as an adviser to the delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands during IMO’s Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC) meetings on the climate measures for shipping. Nick is closely involved in the meetings with the European Commission and other EU stakeholders on the inclusion of maritime into the EU ETS scheme and FuelEU Maritime. Before Nick worked for the Dutch inland navigation industry association CBRB. He holds a Bachelor degree in European Studies with a focus on environmental policy.
