Sam has 15 years’ experience in Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM), working for the Environment Agency. Most of that time has been spent in asset management ensuring the Environment Agency’s portfolio of flood defence assets across Kent, South London and East Sussex perform as they should. Sam has also taken a key role in ensuring the continued investment of assets within the area, managing the maintenance program to ensure timely and cost effective intervention. Responding to coastal and fluvial flooding, manging assets during incidence and working with local community’s has also been a key driver in the work Sam has delivered. In recent years Sam has taken the lead as Senior User (client) for a series of coastal defence schemes around Romney Marsh, ensuring an integrated line of flood defences are in place to ensure the whole area, which is all below mean high water is defended into the future.
