Matt Newman has worked for the Department for International Trade (DIT) for over 25 years; specialising in international business development, focusing particularly on supporting SMEs. He has held various roles within DIT including working as an International Trade Adviser (ITA) within a UK Regional Team and then at DIT HQ as part of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Sector Team. His most recent role leads on SME Engagement in UK Defence & Security Exports (UKDSE), a part of DIT. This role works to ensure UK SMEs in the Defence & Security sectors are supported by Government in their export ambitions. This includes managing the UKDSE Export Faculty – a new initiative which provides a virtual community to for SMEs to develop and grow internationally.
