About the Speaker

Sarah is a naval officer of nearly 30 years’ experience. The early years were spent at sea developing her skills as a watchkeeper and navigating officer. She commanded the offshore patrol vessels HMS MERSEY, on UK maritime security duties, HMS CLYDE in the Falkland Islands, and the Fishery Protection Squadron in the run up to BREXIT. More recently, her career has taken her to the Ministry of Defence in London to the Finance and Military Capability area, and Navy Command Headquarters to work on developing the Future Navy. Her current role is working on the defence and deterrence partnership “AUKUS” with Australia and the United States.
