About the Speaker

Susan is responsible for managing careers promotional activities, including the shipping industries national awareness advertising campaign, Careers at Sea website, as well as managing the Careers at Sea ambassador programme. She is also responsible for managing the administration of all Maritime Educational Foundation funding activities, including an officer cadet training programme. 
Susan began her career in the cruise industry, where she worked in maritime compliance. She was responsible for overseeing vessels' regulatory and statutory certificates, as well as managing the company’s cadet programme. This foundation in maritime compliance and training, as well as further roles in newbuild planning and manufacturing of engineering equipment in shipping, has provided her with a deep understanding of the industry's standards and requirements, which she now applies in her current role to help guide the next generation of maritime professionals.

Lively sessions aimed at visiting schools, colleges and universities, with inspirational talks from professionals in the commercial marine industry and featuring video footage of their working days.
