About the Speaker
James Atwell is bosun/ first mate with Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) and from 2024, is sailing as a Skipper on the TSYT Challenge72 fleet. James is 21 and following his beginnings in Sail Training with the Cirdan Trust on the east coast, James moved to Portsmouth and started working with TSYT during his free time alongside working as a refit team member at Clipper. In 2023, James joined TSYT as Fleet Bosun, sailing as first mate regularly until completing his skipper training and embarking on his first Skipper voyage in the autumn of 2024. James now takes young people and adults to sea every week, to introduce them to life at sea and delivering our amazing Youth Development work at sea.
