2020 vision - time to plan ahead

At the time of writing it's just over a month since Seawork 2019 and M&CCE Expo physically closed their doors. So, what was the verdict?

Numbers held steady despite the challenging weather on the last day, with over 7700 maritime professionals attending the 2019 editions of Seawork and M&CCE Expo. Opening the exhibitions, the Maritime Minister declared Seawork to be ‘one of the highlights of the maritime calendar, showcasing an industry…. demonstrates the range of opportunities on offer in this exciting sector’.

Kaymac headed home after a successful M&CCE Expo saying, “After a very successful week for Kaymac we thank the people who visited us, we are always glad to see familiar faces as well as new faces for future opportunities”.

“We've found Seawork a fantastic exhibition. We are here every year - this is our tenth time in a row. We've had a lot of people at our stand and our customers enjoyed it too, so it was perfect.” Bram Vogelaar - Sales Manager, Heila Cranes Nederland B.V.

For Jotron, “Seawork is a good meeting point for distributors and customers and it’s good to be able to fly the company name. As a business we have a large international reach, so it’s great to have seen a variety of international customers at Seawork this year.” Managing Director Paul Shaw added, “We will keep coming back, as it’s a fantastic show and a fantastic venue.”

Martin Bissuel - Business Development Manager, BAE Systems was happy too, “For BAE Systems everybody we need to talk to is here at Seawork, so it provides the opportunity to condense meetings that would normally take place over several months into one week. ……. very productive!”

Speed@Seawork delegates were amongst the first to hear of new business opportunities as Alistair Hughes, Team Leader CSS Boats within UK MoD, gave them the  good news that the UK MoD CSS boats team was looking to purchase 150 new fast craft.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, exhibitor bookings for 2020 stood at 10% even before the 2019 edition had closed its doors, and it’s been a steady stream of confirmations since; a great way to get a full 12 months of promotion and coverage.

SeaRock’s Martin Hirst said, “SeaRock is a new company and was very pleased with the response from having a presence at M&CCE. Being aligned with Seawork definitely increased client contact and we have lots of leads to follow up on. We are already making plans to return in 2020.”

Richard Simpson of RJS Marine said, “As a small company it was a big step for me to take time to exhibit….. I was very pleased with my first Seawork as an exhibitor as, not only was I able to fully represent one of my biggest suppliers, I reached agreement and have now signed to distribute two more equipment brands; extending the range for my customers.”

“This is the first time at Seawork for us at C-Front Trading.  It has been a good place to meet the market and introduce the product ranges we are working with.  The quality of suppliers and customers visiting the show is really good and we felt there was a good international feel to Seawork.  We look forward to coming next year.” Charlie Mill of C-Front Trading

It’s good news too from Box PR director Louise Crowden who tells us, “A very busy Seawork – all my clients are re-booking!”

Sponsors onboard for 2020

A-Plan Commercial Marine Insurance is making it a hat-trick having signed for the third consecutive year as headline sponsor for the prestigious European Commercial Marine Awards, to be held at the end of the first day of Seawork and M&CCE Expo.

With the 2019 edition of M&CCE Expo serving as a launch platform to announce the company’s comprehensive rebranding,  international marine recruitment specialist Marine Resources Recruitment will be taking up position in the Atlantic Hall café as sponsor for the second year running.

The offshore windfarm support company JR Rix Sea Shuttle will be found at the perfect meeting point along the quayside as returning sponsors of the ever-popular Guinness Bar.

Visitors and exhibitors alike will be able to indulge in some high-quality re-fuelling, courtesy of the heating and cooling solutions provider at the Webasto Catering Village.
