Boluda Towage has named the latest Damen-built tug 'VB Marte' at a ceremony in Genoa.
The ASD Tug 2813 was named at a ceremony on 22 October, following her delivery from Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam in December 2025.
The vessel made the journey to Italy under its own power and will operate with Rimorchiatori Porto di Genova, part of Boluda Towage.
VB Marte is designed for far more than towing. She is fitted with an aft winch, crane, as well as a FiFi 1 firefighting system and oil spill recovery capabilities.
The tug is based on Damen’s ASD Tug 2813 design, which features a 12.93m beam for stability and a wheelhouse offering operators an unrestricted view. She can generate up to 83 tonnes of bollard pull.
The vessel was also designed with emissions reduction in mind.
Damen Sales Manager for Italy Antonio Marte, said, “The company has also chosen to install a Damen Marine NOx Reduction System, which reduces NOx emissions by 80%, demonstrating Boluda’s forward-thinking and responsible approach to its operations.”
