The sea trials will feature a range of fast vessels for multiple applications. On the land speakers at the Cowes Yacht Haven will include Phil Scott, Director at award winning RIB company, RibRide. He’s the man behind the fastest passenger RIB project, Velocity, part funded by the Welsh government and the European Union.
Phil’s background is steeped in water-borne activities. He moved to Anglesey in 1991 for the windsurfing and access to mountains and, in his spare time, to study Sport Science at Bangor.
He is a former head of windsurfing at Plas Menai, the National Water Sports Centre for Wales, regional officer for the RYA in Wales and coach for the national windsurfing squad.
He has a PHD in the evaluation of training and learning effectiveness from Bangor University.
He now runs Synergy Yachting, a sailing catamaran consultancy and RibRide, together with The Marine Club, the first private members powerboat club created in the UK, now a thriving boat yard and marine and RYA powerboat training centre.
RibRide is the highest rated boat tour company on Trip Advisor in the UK.
Phil Scott currently sits as Chair on the Destination Anglesey Partnership, a role which has led to him being voted as current Chair of the North Wales Tourism Forum.
