The new 23m aluminum Ferry 22 Electric is specifically designed to transport 100 passengers including 40 seats, has 5 wheelchair locations and space 40 bicycles or mopeds.
Smaller, highly efficient and lightweight electrical motors make the fully electric vessel’s highly compact electrical propulsion system half the size of a conventional diesel-electric propulsion system. A diesel genset provides power to the propulsion system in an emergency and the same genset charges the batteries automatically if shore power proves to be unavailable.
Solar panels satisfy all other vessel energy requirements bar the propulsion system.
With a draft of 2.5m and a cruising speed of 14 km/h, the larger 30m Ferry 30 Cat transports a minimum 200 passengers, including 50 seated and 50 standing as well as five wheelchair passengers inside, and up to 100 standing passengers on the exterior deck, together with 75 bicycles and mopeds.
