The world launch of Energy Solutions SmartSwitch took place on the opening day at Seawork. Designed and manufactured in the UK, SmartSwitch offers a 4 channel DC switch system which is fully integrated into a Victron Energy platform.
“This digital switching option is easy to install and operate, and reduces the level of hard wiring required on a boat, which saves in installation time, costs and also weight,” says Nigel Stuart COO. “in addition, the intelligent system will provide feedback, such as when a light bulb needs replacing.”
Oceanic Systems displays were also being launched by Energy Solutions at Seawork. These 7 inch, 9 inch and 19 inch wide touch screens are water resistant and can be configured to display any data required, using input from NMEA 2000, J1939 and Modbus. Designed to enable users to see vital data – without having to switch from nav screens – the Oceanic displays offer total flexibility and can be individually configured. “Having additional personalised screens means that MFD nav screens can remain unclutter and display what is really important, whilst the Oceanic screens compliment this data by showing, for example, tank and fuel gauges, electrics and engine data, HVAC, lights and so forth,” says Stuart. As well as providing these tailored solutions to OEMs in the marine sector, around 50% of sales currently go to land based users, such as building sites, where the displays help manage power consumption.
