Fly the flag for Civils
The 2019 Regatta will take place at the end of the second day of M&CCE Expo, Wednesday 12 June in the waters off the exhibition’s temporary commercial marina.
“Vessels” can be of any type and the hope is that exhibitors at, and even visitors to, M&CCE Expo will add a civil engineering dimension to this fun event. Perhaps we will see a jack-up barge or even a cardboard Wave Walker…
Budding Captain Cardboards need to sit down with their design and manufacture teams to finalise their plans. This year there will be a requirement to register the vessel under an International Flag of State in accordance with ISVO (International Soggy Vessel Organisation) laws.
Flags can be of any nationality or more controversially could be a Flag of Convenience. The vessel should then wear the flag at all times during the Regatta and all efforts should be made during the design phase to adorn the vessel with an essence of the Flag of Choice.
Exhibitors are encouraged to lay down their challenges now to fellow exhibitors.
Boat building guidance can be found here.
Exhibitors wanting to enter should complete the Regatta Application form and Declaration in the online Exhibitor manual.
