The session is split into 3 free episodes with a new episode released each week. Episode one | 19 January, 10am UTC - Herman Broers, Managing Director - Nederlands Loodswezen B.V. Herman will provide a technical overview of the daily operations that are vital to support the Dutch pilots in their job on a 24-hour basis.
Nederlands Loodswezen B.V. has a fleet of over twenty vessels, supporting both Dutch ports and Antwerp. Within this session Herman will discuss the ongoing fleet replacement program for these vessels and how the decision-making process is projecting towards specific future fuel choices.
With the first steps having already been made, Herman will present his insight into the future challenges and highlight the various options that are available for net-zero operations. Episode two | 25 January, 10am UTC - Dan Freeman, Technical Business Development Manager, Williams Shipping Dan will discuss what future fuels look like to the modern workboat operator. This will include both the risks and challenges when it comes to deciding and committing to an option, further discussing Williams Shipping’s perspective on the fuel choices and the potential fuels future vessels will be powered by. Episode three | 1 February, 10am UTC - William Barker, Marine Director (Harbour Master), Harwich Haven Authority. William’s presentation will include the assessment of current marine requirements and the future of marine operations in ports and harbours that are key when considering the journey to achieving decarbonisation.
Discussing the current market trends, William will highlight that there is no 'off the shelf' low carbon solution for the vast majority of traditional harbour marine activities, including the operation of pilot launches, works boats and tugs.
