Congratulations to Cornish fisherman Ben Eglinton on the launch of his new vessel the FV Beryl M, successfully sea-trialled just last month.
The Beryl M was built in Hayle, Cornwall by H Baumbach & Sons with the engine and gearbox package supplied by Watermota. Newquay-based Ben chose the engine for good value, ease of maintenance and good same-day local support from Watermota.
The vessel is fitted with a Doosan L136 derated to 90kW and a D-I Industrial DMT90 marine gearbox with trolling valve. The package included the design and fabrication of the front end take off system which included an additional alternator, clutched hydraulic pumps and clutched deck wash pump. The naturally aspirated engine falls below the IMO Tier II limits.
The engine was delivered to the builder with hydraulics and pump pre-installed on a custom Watermota-designed and built base frame enabling the whole apparatus to be neatly dropped into the new hull for final fitting.
Vessel owner Ben was featured in the BBC television series Cornwall:This Fishing Life, an in-depth documentary about Cornish fishermen, the industry and their way of life.
Established in 1911, WaterMota Ltd. is the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Doosan Infracore, JMP & D-I Industrial, and the UK distributor of AZCUE pumps and spare parts.
