The dredger Emerald Duchess has arrived in Middlesbrough, UK following successful sea trials.
The 2.000m3 diesel electric TSHD dredger has been designed in-house and built by Neptune Marine to client PD Ports specification, ensuring she can carry out her tasks on the Tees to the highest environmental and safety standards.
In addition to three MAN generator sets, which are equipped with state-of-the-art after-treatment systems, the Emerald Duchess also boasts a large battery. The battery has been installed to quickly absorb peaks in power needed, with the added advantage that it can also be used for short periods of time completely emission-free, for example, to sail in or out of a port.
