Pilot vessel number 50 delivered

Safehaven Marine has launched ‘Balblair’ an Interceptor 48 pilot built for the Port of Cromarty Firth in Scotland. She is the 2nd Interceptor 48 pilot delivered to the port, and will join her sister ship ‘Dalmore’ which has been working successfully at the Port since she was delivered in 2019. 

Graham Grant at the Port of Cromarty Firth commenting on ‘Dalmore’ “ After a year in service I am pleased to report that all our crews and pilots are delighted with her. Dalmore is the ultimate high quality pilot boat operator’s machine. She gives them supreme confidence in her handling and sea going abilities. She is an extremely stable platform, boarding’s and landings of pilots can be undertaken safely. Crew comfort is first class- noise levels and vibration is absolutely minimal. From our initial contact to delivery our experience with Safehaven has been first class.”

Powered by a pair of Volvo D13 500hp engines she has a very economical 25kts operational speed. For pilotage accommodates of 5 pilots and 2 crew but can accommodate up to 12 for crew transfer operations. Her cabin is very well appointed and fitted, out providing a central helm position for optimal vessel control fitted with a full array of Furuno navigation equipment. Shock mitigation seating ensures crew and passenger comfort and she provides full live aboard facilities in her spacious lower forward cabin.
