Sustainability from bottle to boat
Materials made from recycled plastic bottles and bio-based epoxy resin systems are enabling composite specialists to deliver even more sustainable solutions to customers.
Appointment as a Gurit Authorised Distributor for the UK market is another step along the sustainability road for GRP Solutions. The company will distribute Gurit’s range of recycled core materials and formulated products including laminating and adhesive systems to the marine, transportation, building and construction, and industrial markets.
Lance Hill, General Manager, Marine & Industrial comments, “We are pleased to have GRP Solutions on board as an authorised distributor for Gurit products, particularly for our Kerdyn Green PET structural core, which offers customers a sustainable alternative for composites. GRP Solutions set the standard for distribution and service with which we are happy to be aligned.”
Brian Harpur, Managing Director of GRP Solutions adds, “We are thrilled to be working closely with Gurit, a world class supplier, to deliver more sustainable solutions to our customers. With the addition of Gurit’s structural materials, particularly Gurit Kerdyn Green, made from recycled plastic bottles and the bio-based epoxy resin systems, we are driving change towards a more sustainable future.”
Highly adaptable, recyclable, thermoplastic core material with a good balance of mechanical properties, temperature resistance, density and cost for a wide range of applications and processes. Gurit® Kerdyn™ Green is compatible with a wide range of resin systems including epoxy, vinyl ester, unsaturated polyester and phenolic resins.
Both parties see Gurit’s passion for a sustainable future and innovative products as an excellent fit with GRP Solution’s ambition to be leader in the composites distribution sector for service and now sustainability.
