With extreme weather events becoming more frequent, ensuring emergency responders have the right equipment and training to save lives is critical. FloodFighters@Seawork is a new initiative for Seawork 2025.
FloodFighters@Seawork includes a half-day conference, dedicated pavilion and webinar focussing on the standard tools and resources required for effective flood rescue operations.
Conference topics will include:
Challenges in the global maritime search and rescue (SAR) industry and best practices that will aid future rescue operations
Obstacles that SAR will face as a result of climate change
The Netherlands’ perspective on responding to major flood incidents and the progress continuing to be made
UK’s Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) asset register and an update of the revision of the DEFRA Flood rescue concept of operations

The FloodFighters Conference, chaired by Mr. Roy Harold MBE, Emeritus UK Chief Fire Officer, will be held on Tuesday 10 June, the first day of Seawork, followed by a networking lunch between 1330-1415 Register and add to your schedule here
The new FloodFighters Trail will showcase the latest in flood and water rescue technology, equipment, and services, enabling exhibitors to display products and services to an engaged audience of professionals passionate about flood and water rescue. The FloodFighters@Seawork conference and pavilion will be accompanied by on-the-water rescue demonstrations showcasing tactics and equipment arranged by Professional Rescue and Wessex Rescue.
