Barrus Powered Vessels at Seawork 2025

Delta Power Boat - Built for high speed manouvering in tactical applications.

Experience speed and agility aboard the craft that’s been designed for offshore tactical operations like high-speed interception. Loaded with advanced defence technologies like drone detect/defeat and thermal cameras and powered by twin Yanmar 6LYA 440HP inboard engines. As the propulsion partner, EP Barrus specified, tested and installed the engines.

Cheverton Champ – Giving a new low-carbon lease of life to the MoD’s cadet training vessel.

Barrus undertook a joint project with DE&S to evaluate low-carbon alternatives to the original propulsion system.  Converting the boat to run as pure electric as part of a feasibility study for a wider roll out, then upgrading her to a full diesel/electric hybrid system from Hybrid Marine International. The Hybrid Marine International system is manufactured by EP Barrus and has multiple modes including electric drive, diesel drive, sailing regeneration and generator mode- removing the need for onboard generators, reducing the carbon footprint and saving costs.
