DiPerk Power Solutions has made its debut at Seawork this week, as UK and Ireland Distributor for Perkins which returns to Europe’s largest commercial exhibition. Together they are using the event to showcase an expanded range of marine propulsion and auxiliary engines for the commercial marine and workboat industry.
Perkins had its new M245C on display for Seawork visitors and forms part of a new product range which will include the M175C and M200C models. Built on proven platforms and marinized for demanding commercial use, the engines are suited to both new and repower applications. The company has recently been shifting focus from artillery engines to propulsion, targeting pilot boats and fishing vessels.
Daniel Bhagwanani, Global Sales Manager at Perkins Engines explained: We've got a new propulsion range we're heavily investing into. The engineering team is here at Seawork, so we’re really using this week as an opportunity to talk to customers, get their feedback and showcase our new range.” All Perkins marine engines are supplied and supported through its global distributor network, including DiPerk in the UK and Ireland.
Charlotte Slater, marketing specialist, for DiPerk Power Solutions commented, “Perkins approached us to join them at Seawork which we felt was a great opportunity. This is DiPark’s first show and it’s the perfect platform to raise our profile and our partnership with Perkins.
“Seawork also aligns with the launch of DiPerk’s new online parts shop, so we can talk to visitors about the comprehensive support we can offer the commercial marine sector. “We can support the full life cycle of the Perkins engine, from purchasing, supplying parts through to installing the engine and servicing it. When it reaches the point of overhaul or rebuild, we're also there to step in.”
The trend of rebuilding engines as a sustainable option is on the rise across the industry which is felt across many of the Seawork exhibitors. Slater cited Van Kappel, which is a significant customer, frequently choosing engine rebuilds as a sustainable choice. The evolution of engine technology means customers still get the warranty and service but save the cost and environmental burden of always buying new.
“Our role is to support customers in making the right decision for their vessel and operations,” continued Slater.
