Griffon Marine will unveil its new brand identity for the first time at Seawork 2025, Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to meet the Griffon Marine team and learn how the new branding reflects the company’s unrivalled expertise and ambitious direction for the future.
Formerly known as Griffon Hoverwork, the company has rebranded as Griffon Marine—a name that captures its broader capabilities and enduring commitment to maritime excellence. With over 60 years of innovation in the design, build, and support of amphibious and high-speed marine vessels, Griffon Marine’s new identity aligns with its world-class service offerings and expanded focus across multiple marine sectors.
The company now operates under three specialised divisions:
· Griffon Marine Solutions delivers cutting-edge vessel design and consultancy services, helping customers address complex operational challenges in maritime border security, amphibious operations, riverine patrol, and high-speed ferry services.
· Griffon Marine Shipyard, located at Trafalgar Wharf in Portchester, offers over 36,000 square feet of space dedicated to the construction, refit, and maintenance of lightweight marine vessels with industry-leading standards.
· Griffon Marine Support provides global 24/7 aftercare, including spare parts, engineering, and training to ensure mission readiness for coastguards, navies, armies, and ferry operators worldwide.
The new branding also retains and reinforces the company’s global leadership in hovercraft development—preserving the legacy of Griffon Hoverwork while positioning the business for future growth in broader marine applications.
“Our transition to Griffon Marine reflects the strengths and expertise that have been at the heart of our company for decades,” said Mark Downer, Chief Executive Officer of Griffon Marine. “This new identity better represents the diverse and high-quality capabilities we offer in vessel design, construction, and support. While our name has changed, our commitment to delivering exceptional maritime solutions remains unwavering. We are now better positioned to meet the changing requirements of maritime customers and the challenging demands of future commercial and military marine activity.”
Speaking ahead of the exhibition, Downer added: “Seawork is the ideal platform for introducing the new Griffon Marine brand to the industry. It gives us the chance to share our evolved identity and showcase how we’re building on a legacy of engineering excellence to deliver smarter, faster, and more sustainable marine solutions.
