New chapter for Croatian shipbuilding
ISKRA Shipyard has acquired the 3. Maj Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia for EUR 6.7 million.
The acquisition agreement was formally signed at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia by Roko Vuletić, Ph.D., CEO of ISKRA Shipyard, and Milan Plećaš, Director of CERP, in the presence of the Croatian Minister of Economy, Ante Šušnjar.
ISKRA’s offer matched the public tender set out last Autumn. ISKRA will maintain shipbuilding activities at the 3. Maj site in Rijeka as part of the agreement.
ISKRA Shipyard has stated, “…this represents a strategic step aligned with our long-term vision: strengthening industrial capacities, expanding technological capabilities, and reinforcing Croatia’s position in European shipbuilding.
“With proven experience in complex refit, naval and specialised vessel projects, we see significant potential in further developing large-scale shipbuilding programmes, enhancing competitiveness, and creating sustainable growth.
“We believe this marks the beginning of a new and responsible development phase — built on expertise, continuity and industrial excellence.”
