The BMT-designed 'Windserve Frontier' is set to play a vital role in supporting the growing renewable energy sector in the USA.
Constructed by Senesco Marine for Windserve Marine, a sister company to the North Kingstown, R.I. shipbuilder, the CTV will serve the emerging offshore wind industry on the U.S. East Coast.
With a focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability, the state-of-the-art vessel marks a significant milestone in the offshore wind market in the USA; constructed with extra space on board to accommodate a retrofitted battery pack in the future she is the first hybrid-ready CTV in the WindServe fleet.
Built to ABS class, the BMT-designed aluminium catamaran is 29 metres long with a 9-metre beam and 1.7-metre draft.
Equipped with the Reygar BAREFleet vessel monitoring system, her Volvo Penta D13 main engines and Volvo Penta IPS 900 propulsion system give her a service speed of 24.5 knots and a top speed of 27 knots. She can carry up to 6 crew members and 24 passengers.
