An exclusive preview of the UK Maritime Research and Technology Roadmap, co-hosted by NSO, MarRI-UK and SMI, will take place at Seawork 2026.
Spotlighting innovation and autonomy as key drivers shaping the future maritime landscape, this is a great opportunity to hear from industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers on emerging autonomous systems, smart technologies, and strategic priorities.
The event will begin with an opening presentation on the Technology Roadmap from Jake Rigby, Head of Innovation and Research at BMT and Chair of the MarRI-UK Technical Working Group, followed by remarks from Rod Paterson, CEO of the National Shipbuilding Office, on how the NSO works across government, industry, and academia to deliver for the UK’s maritime technology and autonomy sectors. This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session featuring representatives from MarRI-UK, the Society of Maritime Industries, BMT, and from maritime autonomy companies.
