Star International expands servicing capability as operators look to reduce contractor overlap

Star International has expanded its marine safety offering to include lifeboat, davit, winch, and release hook servicing, following the acquisition of a specialist davit servicing provider.

The move broadens the company’s onboard inspection and maintenance support, which already includes firefighting equipment, life-saving appliances, refrigeration/HVAC systems, and marine evacuation systems.

For vessel operators, this can help reduce contractor overlap by coordinating more servicing work through a single provider, simplifying scheduling and reducing disruption during port calls and maintenance periods.
