Acquisition boosts the offer

A Dutch windscreen wiper specialist has acquired a Norwegian firm, complementing and expanding its portfolio and opening the doors to untapped markets.

The international brand Exalto Wiper Technologies, has strengthened its product portfolio through the acquisition of Decca Wiper. Decca is a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of straight-line wiper systems based in Bergen with a worldwide client base. The company is part of the Fjell Technology Group AS.

Well known in the commercial vessel market, Decca has built a highly respected business, providing high levels of personal service completely focused on clients’ needs. The Decca systems complement and expand the Exalto product portfolio, enabling further market expansion. The acquisition marries two very complementary companies with people and clients at their core.

Exalto will further strengthen the capabilities across a now fully complemented range of wiper systems and associated equipment, while Decca’s clients will benefit from Exalto’s international distribution platform for sales and service. The systems will shortly gain type approval, opening the way to as yet untapped existing markets.

Fons Miltenburg, commercial director of Exalto, added: “This acquisition will strengthen our overall offering for our marine clients, and reiterates Exalto’s ongoing strategy of empowering local teams to partner with culturally-aligned companies with a shared entrepreneurial culture to enhance our client offering across the globe.”

Leif Gunnar Madsen, Chairman of the Fjell group, says: “Exalto’s dedication, expertise and experience in the wiper business is perfect to take Decca to the next level, taking well care of both the customers, employees and suppliers. We are very satisfied in Exalto being the new owner of Decca.”
