Port Phillip Sea Pilots Pty Ltd (PPSP) in Victoria, Australia, has chosen marine analytics company Marfle’s system for its newly built pilot vessel ‘Torquay’.
The new vessel was constructed by Hart Marine, leaders in ORC Pilot Boat manufacturing throughout Australia and New Zealand.
PPSP celebrated its 185th birthday with the vessel’s christening, “The role of marine pilots might not have changed much in the past 185 years, but the tools of our trade have certainly come a long way.
“The PV Torquay is the most technologically advanced pilot launch on the water, reducing fuel burn and emissions by 30 per cent, helping PPSP Lead the Way towards net zero without compromising on performance and safety.”
Finland-based Marfle has provided a wide array of invaluable features for the Port Phillip Sea Pilots. Among the numerous benefits, Marfle offers fuel performance analysis, driving style assessments, and other essential features.
This latest venture comes hot on the heels of supply to Flinders Port Holdings Pty Limited, the South Australian ports operator, with Marfle now onboard Flinders Ports' impressive pilot boat 'Spirit'.
Marfle’s suite of advanced tools includes fuel performance analysis, driving style assessments, and real-time engine alerts. These essential features enable Flinders Ports to navigate the seas with efficiency and precision, ensuring optimal performance and safety on every voyage.
