Clear vision
A new first-in-class 14m ‘Medina Class’ lifeboat will soon be on its way to the independent charity Caister Lifeboat which has been saving lives at sea and along the coastline of Norfolk and Suffolk, UK, since 1791
Built by Seawork exhibitor Diverse Marine in Cowes IOW UK for the Caister Volunteer Lifeboat Service, the 14m self-righting Lifeboat features an aluminium hull, deck and coach roof together with a resiliently mounted GRP wheelhouse, to reduce noise and vibration for the crew.
Other exhibitors onboard are HamiltonJet and Boat Electrics and Electronics Ltd, supplying propulsion and comms respectively, with DuroWipers’ Class 50 pantographs keeping wheelhouse vision clear.
“We’re proud to stand alongside the other high-quality suppliers supplying this lifeboat,” said Noel Gould, managing director, DuroWipers.
“DuroWipers built a name for itself in the search and rescue market supplying the RNLI newbuild Shannon lifeboats. More contracts in this sector stand testament to the reputation and quality of our product.”
The Class 50 pantographs are the smallest in the DuroWiper range, ideal for applications where space is at a premium, and come with DuroWipers three year warranty for commercial users.
Due for delivery by the end of this year, the new Medina Class lifeboat is scheduled to enter service in 2023.
