New Seawork exhibitor Dynautics has unveiled its Phantom II AUV, which will be demonstrated at the event in June next year.
Dynautics’ Phantom AUV/UUV was initially developed for the US Navy and went from concept to sea trials in 100 days. Now, Dynautics is set to deliver the next generation of this proven technology.
Developing the design further in line with both client and latest industry requirements, the Dynautics team has produced an innovative, modular underwater vessel that can be scaled to accommodate different payloads and complete a range of subsea tasks.
Powered by lithium batteries, Phantom II has a rated depth of 100 metres, endurance of 12 hours at four knots and it is not tethered. Its modular design has been achieved with 3D modelling and simulation to customise designs based on client needs, which reduces risk.
Positioning is achieved through ultrasound communication and/or dead reckoning, and Dynamic Positioning solutions facilitate pin-point station keeping.
Dynautics, which will exhibit at Seawork for the first time with Phantom II, was founded in 1996 as H-Scientific Ltd. 2018 saw the company rebrand as Dynautics and launch an ‘E-boat series’ for electrically propelled uncrewed vessels. Its first Uncrewed Surface Vessel approved by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency In 2000.
