What started out as an idea is now a reality in the shape of an innovative vessel operating in Lavagna, Italy.
The BIIM (Battello Ibrido Innovativo Modulare) is a concept vessel with a hybrid propulsion system, designed by the marine division hybrid architects at VULKAN, the marine, industrial and energy technology specialists.
Officially launched in March of this year, BIIM has been operating in the Mediterranean as a harbour vessel and test platform for the various technologies on board.
