WISTA UK and the MEF are leveraging their combined strengths and networks to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women within the maritime sector, starting with fully funded sponsorship for five female cadets.
Women's International Shipping & Trading Association UK (WISTA UK) is a member of WISTA International, the global organization dedicated to advancing women in shipping and trading,. With members in over 59 countries, WISTA International provides a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and professional development opportunities for women across the maritime spectrum.
The Maritime Educational Foundation (MEF) is committed to providing sponsorship opportunities for UK cadets, funding updating training for unemployed seafarers and providing funding support for companies training Apprentices, and has a wealth of experience in supporting maritime education and career development.

Cadet training management company Ship Safe Training Group has been selected to manage the training of the five female cadets on behalf of the MEF and WISTA UK.
