
Tim Rowsell, Coast Risk Lead at the RNLI, is to speak at Speed@Seawork on Monday 9 June.
Known for his expertise in risk analysis and operational excellence, Tim Rowsell will present "Understanding Risk in the RNLI", giving Speed@Seawork delegates a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the RNLI's risk management practices and the innovative approaches that employ data and analytics to safeguard lives at sea.
Tim has served as the Coast Risk Lead at the RNLI since 2017, where he advises the Institution on the optimal placement of different lifeboat types based on comprehensive analysis of both internal and external datasets. His role also involves engaging with RNLI lifesaving volunteers at lifeboat stations to provide the most appropriate recommendations, ensuring the highest standards of maritime safety for both crew and casualties.
In addition to his primary role, Tim also serves as an out-of-hours Operations Room Duty Officer, coordinating RNLI resources during critical incidents. With over 20 years of dedicated volunteer experience in the police and search and rescue teams, specialising in water rescue and drone operations, Tim's extensive background and hands-on expertise make him a leading authority in the field.
