Leadership team strengthened

Automotive and defence systems specialist Fischer Panda UK has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of David Payne as Business Development Director and Chris Baker as Operations and Technical Director.

Promoted in line with the company’s restructuring as it builds on the achievements of a positive financial year despite the COVID-19 pandemic, David and Chris bring significant technical, engineering and industry knowledge to the senior team.

David, an indentured mechanical engineer and hybrid diesel and electric power systems specialist, moves to his new role following three years as Technical Sales Manager for the company. With 25 years’ experience in the marine and automotive industries, David has established expertise in developing and customising innovative and cost-effective hybrid and electric solutions for both vessels and specialist vehicles.  Currently leading the growing engineering team and controlling the operations side of the business, Engineering Manager Chris has been central to assisting Fischer Panda UK’s growth over the last 24 years, amassing a depth of technical skill in the field.

Fischer Panda UK states the  new senior roles underline its continued ambitions for business growth and reinforces its position at the forefront of the latest innovations and developments in customised hybrid and electric power solutions across the boating, vehicle and military sectors.

In addition to electric solutions, David and Chris will also lead the technical progression of Fischer Panda projects and systems integration for its diesel generators, Mastervolt power systems, Sea Recovery water purification, Dometic climate control and CZone digital monitoring on leisure and commercial marine vessels, specialist automotive vehicles and off grid applications.

Fischer Panda UK’s Managing Director, Barry Fower, said: “We are delighted to announce the expansion of our team of directors with two very experienced and proficient professionals who have both established themselves as essential to the business. Since he joined us in 2017, David has been a great asset to the company and we are confident that his experience and skill set will continue to benefit the business and our customers. Chris has an abundance of knowledge about the industry, where we sit in the market and our technical product range and is the ideal choice to head up the operations and technical aspects, and take our highly skilled engineering team forwards. The appointments reflect a natural progression for Fischer Panda UK, improving and strengthening the structure of the leadership team to help drive us forward in new technologies, ensuring we can adapt quickly to industry developments and improving delivery to our partners and customers.”
