A well-known face in the industry, Andrew Hughes, has launched his new company Loki Dynamics at Seawork.
Headquartered in Dorset UK, Loki Dynamics represents product partners Marine Diesel Powertrain from Sweden and UK-based Salmon Power Sports.
Andrew has more than 25 years of commercial marine expertise and contacts, and has taken the opportunity at this year’s Seawork to showcase a new, cutting-edge diesel outboard to the commercial marine sector.
The Marine Diesel D14 has been designed specifically for commercial operators and is ideal for use in demanding sectors such as oil and gas industry, aquaculture, harbours, inland marinas and marine protected areas. Cost-effective and requiring minimal maintenance, the 14 HP single-cylinder engine weighs just 75 kg and has a vertical shaft design, mono block 500ccm single cylinder, direct cooling, with electric start.
Providing excellent torque, the D14 will effortlessly handle heavy loads at low RPM with modest fuel consumption. A key advantage for commercial operators is that the D14 provides a single fuel option for outboard users.
“With increasing regulation regarding the purchasing, transportation and storage of petrol, it makes sense to offer users a competitively-priced, diesel outboard,” says Hughes.
