Meercat handover
The largest multirole workboat to date, the MRV22, is a 22 metre multi-role vessel, which has been developed as a landing craft / hybrid workboat and can be used across multiple operations due to its versatility. Built of a rugged 8mm steel construction, the MRV22 is a mono-hull Meercat which boasts a completely new design and configuration to its smaller sister ships.
Designed by Alastair Salmon the vessel features a bespoke drop-down bow which enables ease of access for trucks and heavy plant. Furthermore, the vessel provides the operator with excellent cargo carrying capacity, superb manoeuvrability and exceptional build quality to MCA Workboat Code of Practice Category 2.
Speaking at Seawork, John Buck, business manager, Meercat Boats commented “We’re delighted to be handing over the new Meercat MRV22 landing craft, alongside introducing visitors to the MRVs - multi role vessels. It’s a phrase we’ve coined as a generic term for all the workboats we build. The MRV is a range of vessels that fits any application where you can purchase one vessel, yet it lands up providing multiple roles
“We’re at Seawork as it’s where everybody goes, and everyone knows who we are. If you’ve got to be seen you’ve got to be seen at Seawork. Here there’s a really broad range of people and there are real opportunities at the show.”
