New CICES CEO
CICES, the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, has welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer, Simon Hamlyn. Simon replaces outgoing CEO, Ann Allen, who was instrumental in steering the organisation through the difficulties of the pandemic and contributed to the development of the Institution’s 30-year-strategy, which will now be taken on by Simon with the support of CICES staff.
Simon has worked with both consumer and trade membership organisations since 2001, including eight years as CEO of the British Hydropower Association. His prior experience incorporates a degree in 3D design and a career in sectors such as publishing, entertainment, hotels and leisure.
CICES president Andy Evans commented on the new appointment, saying, ‘It was a pleasure to be able to introduce Simon Hamlyn at the AGM for his first day working for CICES. I look forward to working with him during my remaining time as president and in the years to come - welcome Simon!’
Simon himself expressed his keenness to work with CICES members, saying, ‘I’m delighted to be the new CICES chief executive officer and looking forward to working on your behalf, ensuring the institution represents your best interests. And with the support of the talented head office team, I expect to grow both our membership and our influence.
‘I’m committed to open communication, continuous engagement and being accessible to all members. Please feel free to contact me at any time with your views, ideas and those issues that matter to you.’
