New panellist for Hybrid Propulsion conference
The second session of the half day Conference is “Overcoming the barriers to Hybrid development”. Marine electrical engineer, Reza Yaghoobi will join as a panellist. Reza has 30 years’ experience gained across various industries, having achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and a BEng in Marine Electrical Engineering.
Reza sailed for 7 years on a range of vessels as an Electrical Engineer. He worked in the offshore sector, was involved in a number of power plant projects and also worked in consultancy positions. This has provided him with a blend of knowledge and hands-on experience.
Reza is currently a technical adviser at IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association). He has authored an introductory guideline on Hybrid Technology for Dynamically Positioned Vessels and is widely involved in the revision of many marine industry technical guidelines published by IMCA. He recently delivered a lecture on safety aspects of marine DP hybrid technology to industry representatives in Singapore in 2019.
The Hybrid Propulsion Conference will be chaired by Alan Cartwright, Director of Blabey Engineering Limited - a maritime consultancy.
