New VP Sales for EMEA

Torqeedo has announced the appointment of Jochen Engelmann as vice-president sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective January 1st 2020.

Engelmann will be responsible for expanding sales of Torqeedo’s marine electromobility systems and driving the company’s growth across the EMEA region. Founded in 2005 in Starnberg, Torqeedo is a market leader in electric mobility on the water; developing and manufacturing electric and hybrid drives from 0.5 to 100 kW for commercial applications and recreational use. Torqeedo is part of DEUTZ Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of innovative drive systems.

Engelmann joins Torqeedo direct from Volvo Penta, where he was Head of Sales - Central Europe for the industrial engine division. Prior to joining Volvo Penta, he worked in the engine development department at Stihl as a technical project manager.  He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University and an Executive MBA from TU Munich.

"With Jochen's international experience in the sales of technically sophisticated drive systems, we will sustainably deepen our interaction with existing and new customers and strategically advance Torqeedo's market presence and steady growth,” said Dr. Christoph Ballin, CEO of Torqeedo.
