Quality and service win out
AIS, global supplier of insulation, passive fire protection, buoyancy, and cable protection systems, has been awarded a substantial contract to provide ContraFlex® insulation jackets for an FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) vessel. The contract was awarded by a Japanese company operating in Brazil.
The scope includes 400 sqm of thermal insulation for various valves, flanges and pipes plus the installation of all jackets after delivery.
Wilian Tenorio – AIS do Brasil´s ContraFlex® sales manager said, "We are very pleased with this award. Our high-quality jackets and high level of service played a big part in our negotiations with this customer. Our new QR code technology was also important; it allows full traceability throughout and simplifies installation. It also allows the customer to easily track and make any replacements in the future."
The jackets are AIS do Brasil's first substantial order for thermal insulation for offshore applications and will be installed in the Brazilian pre-salt area, in the Santos Basin. The FPSO is capable of processing 150,000 barrels of oil per day, 280 MMSCFD (million standard cubic feet of gas per day) and has a storage capacity of 1,600,000 barrels of total fluids.
